From a mother’s love to a natural skincare brand: The story behind LivMeraki natural skincare.
Every great brand has a story. Ours began not in a boardroom or a lab, but in the quiet, tender moments of motherhood; with a girl, a stubborn skin rash, and a mother who refused to settle for “just good enough.”
When our daughter began struggling with a persistent skin rash, as a result of a chronic illness, I did what most parents do, I turned to the pharmacy shelves, seeking answers in creams and lotions promising quick relief. But time and again, those promises fell short. Some products helped for a while, others made it worse, and none offered a long-term solution I felt truly comfortable applying to her delicate but irritated skin.
That’s when instinct kicked in; the kind of instinct only a parent knows. I started researching, learning everything I could about natural ingredients, essential oils, and the healing power of botanicals. I wasn’t a skincare formulator. I wasn’t a business owner. I was just a mum on a mission to help her child.
After weeks of experimenting, mixing, and testing (on myself first!), I finally created a balm that worked. Simple, clean, gentle, and most importantly, effective. My daughter’s rash began to heal. Her skin looked calmer, happier. And with that, something else began to grow: confidence. Not just in the balm, but in myself, in the idea that if this could help my child, maybe it could help others too.
That’s how LivMeraki natural skincare was born.
The name itself is rooted in love. “Meraki” is a Greek word that means to do something with soul, creativity, and love; to leave a piece of yourself in everything you do. And “Liv”? That’s my daughter; the heart and soul behind every product we make.
What started as a mother’s solution to a single problem has evolved into a small-batch, handmade, family-run skincare line built on the belief that what we put on our bodies matters. Every balm, oil, and cream is handcrafted with the same care, purity, and purpose as that very first one I made for my daughter many years ago.
At LivMeraki, we’re not just making natural skincare. We’re creating products that carry a story: of love, healing, and the beautiful mess of motherhood. And we’re so honoured to share that story with you.
